33 Centre Street

Gimli, Manitoba

Welcome to Kristine’s Blog, the Page Turner!

Thank you to all of my awesome customers who have chatted with me about books, spent time browsing the shelves, bought Hartmont Candles, Mordens’ Chocolates, Swai Designs glass birds, Hotcups Tea & hot chocolate, or Alanna’s beautiful tapestries — I appreciate all of your business or just your visits!

I will be closing this 33 Centre Street location and going back to the Arnes Farmers’ Market, weekends only from May Long to October coming in 2023. I’ll be set up in my previous spot in the barn Saturdays 9 am to 2 pm and Sundays 10 am to 2 pm. I’ll continue to have fresh stock every week, with a wide selection at discount prices. It has been lovely having a bookstore in town, but unfortunately there is simply not enough year-round traffic to justify signing a new lease. I’d like to thank Chris and Kristin of Lakeview Dental who are very nice landlords; the building is solid and cozy and I’ll miss my regular visitors and customers.

Please stay in touch and continue to request books through my Facebook group, Instagram and my email. I will not be accepting trades in my new venture, as the books are already fairly priced and I prefer to buy specific titles that I know customers are looking for. Book finding is a great joy of mine!

As always, you can keep in touch through email luckystonebooks@gmail.com or join my Facebook group and communicate there. If you are looking for a specific book, I’d love to hear from you and try to track it down.

Let’s hope for a quick winter…

Always Reading, Kristine

  1. Wonderful Kristine! We will be signing up for the GoodReads app and look forward to the days when we can gather for your book club and events. Thank you.

  2. My daughter and I usually try to make a trip to Gimli every Spring Break and though the weather wasn’t fantastic, we did make it this last Friday. It was so great to see that there is still a book store up and running and I have to say its looking great. It’s open and uncluttered and welcoming. There were plenty of great books to look through and we were even kind of enough to receive a lovely bookmark 🙂 Thank you for providing such a great shop to be the highlight of our trip to Gimli
